Blair Walsh booted a 40-yard field goal in overtime to give the Vikings a 21-18 win over the Rams in Minnesota. Greg Zuerlein’s [[ ZUR-line’s ]] fourth field goal of the game from 53 yards late in regulation forced OT for the Rams, who fell to 4-and-4. They host the Bears this Sunday.
Andrew Luck threw for 252 yards and two touchdowns to help the Colts pull the upset over the undefeated Broncos 27-24 at Lucas Oil Stadium. Adam Vinatieri drilled a 55-yard field goal with 6:13 left in the game to put the Colts up for good. Luck did not throw an interception for the first time in three games. Frank Gore added 83 yards and a score for Indianapolis, which improved to 4-and-5 and took over sole possession of first place in the AFC South. The Colts head to Atlanta next week to take on the Falcons.
Sam Bradford’s 41-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Matthews in overtime gave the Eagles a 33-27 win over the Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football”. Philadelphia evened its record at 4-and-4. Dallas has lost six straight in Tony Romo’s absence.
The Bears clash with the Chargers on “Monday Night Football” in San Diego. Chicago has lost its last two games to enter tonight’s tilt 2-and-6 on the season. The Chargers are also 2-and-6. Kick-off is at 7:30.
Artemi Panarin scored twice in the first period and the Blackhawks went on to post a 4-2 win over the Oilers in Chicago. Patrick Kane and Artem Anisimov lit the lamp in the third for the ‘Hawks, who stopped a two-game skid. Corey Crawford turned away 34 shots in the victory. Chicago is off until Thursday.
Jimmie Johnson took the checkered flag at the NASCAR AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. Johnson led only six laps en route to his fifth win of the year. The final race in the Eliminator round is Sunday in Phoenix.
