Get ready to “Shake It Off,” Taylor Swift: Dancing with the Stars is calling your name.
Well, at least Val Chmerkovskiy is. The DWTS pro tells ABC Radio that Taylor would be his dream dancing partner on the show.
“I wanna make her sweat,” he says. “Get her out of her comfort zone.”
We know from her “Shake It Off” video that Taylor’s not afraid to experiment with different styles of dance, so maybe she’d be up for the challenge one day.
For now, though, the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars will have a roster of all-athlete contestants. The four-week abbreviated season kicks off April 30, but Val is sitting this one out because he’ll be on tour with his brother Maks and his sister-in-law Peta Murgatroyd.
“I’m a huge fan of the prospect of this season because I’m a huge fan of athletes – I love sports,” he says. “I’m kind of upset I’m missing it because it’s really exciting.”
But don’t worry: Val will be returning for the show’s regular fall season later this year. He’s still got time to convince Taylor. In the meantime you can pick up his new memoir, I’ll Never Change My Name, out now.
Among the many pop stars who’ve competed on DWTS: Andy Grammer, Gavin DeGraw, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, Joey Fatone and Lance Bass from ‘N SYNC, Brandy, Toni Braxton, Wanya Morris from Boyz II Men, 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey, Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls and Fifth Harmony‘s Normani Kordei.
