SNAP Benefits Decrease This Month

(Springfield, IL) -- More than two million Illinoisans will have less to work with when they hit the grocery store this month. Today marks the day food stamp benefits take a step backwards as the extra money doled out as part of the 2009 economic stimulus package is cut off. Officials say about 350-thousand seniors and nearly 900-thousand children will be affected. A family of four will be receiving 36-dollars less per month.
