(Springfield, IL) -- State Senator Andy Manar is shooting for the stars with an amendment he introduced Thursday. The Democrat is hoping to drum up support for a measure that he tied to the legislation that would give ADM up to 24-million-dollars in state tax breaks to keep its headquarters in Illinois. Manar’s amendment would require the company to relocate at least 100 jobs from out of state to replace the ones being lost in Decatur when HQ packs up the moving van. It also calls for ADM to hire at least 100 new full-time employees a year in Decatur for five years. The General Assembly could vote on the measure as early as next week.
