Arrests Made In Farmer City Homicide

(Farmer City, IL) -- A pair of carnival workers are facing charges in connection with a murder last weekend in DeWitt County. Brothers James and Alexander Jacquart are accused of stabbing and strangling 21-year-old Blayne Benefield early Saturday during Farmer City’s Heritage Days Festival. The two carnival workers from Wisconsin are also said to have stolen Benefield’s wallet, which appears to be the motive for the crime. State’s Attorney Karle Koritz called the crime a “senseless act of violence.”
