Charges Filed Against Farmer City Shooting Suspect

(Farmer City, IL) -- The DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office has been mighty busy of late. Shortly after its investigation into a weekend murder produced a pair of suspects and multiple homicide charges, Sheriff Jered Shofner announced that an arrest had been made in an unrelated shooting in Farmer City Sunday night. Twenty-seven-year-old Jesse Emmerson was arrested Monday. The victim, 36-year-old Jason Allison, walked into the Huck’s near the Route 54/I-74 junction seeking help from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Carle Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities stopped short of commenting on a motive for the gunplay.
