(Decatur, IL) -- New details are emerging in the hit-and-run accident last month that claimed the life of a Decatur toddler. Twenty-four-year-old David Overlin has pleaded not guilty to running down the boy with his SUV. However, the lead investigator in the case testified in a court hearing this week, saying Overlin admitted to changing the plates on his Explorer to a Cadillac once he got home. T-shirts found inside the SUV with what appears to be human blood have been sent to a crime lab for analysis. The detective also said surveillance video from DMH showed Overlin looking outside and underneath his vehicle shortly after the crash.
