Concealed Carry Bill Advances To Full Senate

(Springfield, IL) -- A concealed carry bill will soon be before the full Senate. The Illinois Senate Executive Committee approved the measure Thursday, which allows police in Chicago to establish stricter guidelines as to who can carry a gun and where they can tote it in public. The state’s home rule cities would also be able to add to the list of places where guns will be banned. As far as private sales go, the bill requires the seller to ensure the buyer has a FOID card before making a transaction.
