Incentives Package For Tuscola Plant Clears Senate

(Springfield, IL) -- An incentives package aimed at drawing a billion-dollar fertilizer plant to Tuscola has unanimously cleared the state Senate. Illinois is competing against Iowa to attract the Cronus Chemical project, which would create more than a thousand construction jobs and over 200 permanent positions. State Senator Chapin Rose urged to House to take quick action and get the measure on the governor’s desk for final approval. Tuscola may have an inside track over the Iowa site since infrastructure elements like a natural gas pipeline, electric substation, railroads and interstates are all within close proximity to the facility’s proposed location.
