(Springfield, IL) -- Hunters are already firmly planted at their honey hole as the second muzzleloader-only deer season is underway. They have until a half-hour past sundown Sunday to bag and tag the eventual freezer full of yum. The DNR says a total of 99-thousand-324 deer were harvested over the two firearm hunts held in recent weeks. This year, hunters took down fewer deer in the second segment of the season than in 2011 but harvested about 15-hundred more animals overall compared to last year.
