Macon County Roadside Safety Checks Slated For December

(Decatur, IL) -- Macon and Champaign counties will be the targets of a roadside safety check campaign being conducted by the ISP throughout December. Extra enforcement really cut down on traffic fatalities this year over the Thanksgiving holiday and police want to make sure the Christmas holiday is even quieter. Troopers will have their eyes peeled for drunk, distracted and otherwise unsafe motorists. The U.S. DOT is providing grant money for the extra patrols.
