New Parking Restrictions Downtown

(Decatur, IL) -- Folks who want to park in downtown Decatur need to pay close attention to the signs posted. A new ordinance is now in effect that restricts parking on Main Street. Larger vehicles like vans, trucks or SUVs will no longer be able to park in certain spots or risk a 25-dollar ticket. Officials say drivers have been complaining about how difficult it is to exit certain spots with views of oncoming traffic severely restricted by huge vehicles. New white, rectangular signs will provide the details on who can park where.
