(Springfield, IL) -- Members of the Save Murray Center Coalition continue to make their voices heard in Springfield. The group rallied and spoke with lawmakers Wednesday, including State Senator Kyle McCarter. He’s been highly critical of Governor Quinn’s spending priorities which has left Murray Center in the lurch. The Neighborhood Recovery Initiative is a controversial program which was the recent target of a CNN investigative report and an ongoing state audit for questionable spending practices. Under the current state budget, Murray is slated to close by next fall. McCarter and the Coalition hope to reverse that decision when the new legislative session gets underway next month.
