(Springfield, IL) -- Annual license plate renewal fees are going up to 101-dollars. Illinois lawmakers have added a two-dollar charge per plate to help pay for the upkeep at state parks, pending Governor Quinn’s approval. The DNR was in desperate need of operating cash to replace the money lost to massive budget cuts over the past decade.
