Hot Weather Will Close Work Week

(Decatur, IL) -- The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for the listening area warning that the oppressive heat will be with us through Friday. Conditions will be hot and humid with heat index values teetering on the century mark. Forecasters say the worst of it will come Friday when highs will hit the mid-90s, jacking up the real feel to about 105. A cold front is expected to clash with the warm air mass Friday night, creating the potential for storms but bringing some relief from the heat and humidity.
