(Decatur, IL) -- A bicyclist is being treated for life-threatening injuries after he was run down by a driver trying to flee a traffic stop. Police tried to pull over Montez Williams for a routine violation but he sped away at 90-miles-per-hour. Cops chased him for a short time but had to back off when he began to get too reckless. Despite that fact, Williams continued to drive at a high rate of speed, ultimately striking 33-year-old Shane Lewis at the intersection of 24th and Garfield. He suffered a skull fracture, broken jaw and bleeding on the brain. Williams tried to flee on foot after the accident but a K-9 unit found him a couple of blocks away.
