(Brooklyn, NY) — Slovenian teenager Luka Doncic won’t be suiting up for the Hawks. The Mavericks have agreed to acquire the 19-year-old’s rights from Atlanta. The Hawks will get Oklahoma point guard Trae Young and a future first-rounder from Dallas. The Mavs drafted Young fifth.

(Brooklyn, NY) — The Bulls took Duke center Wendell Carter Jr. with the seventh pick in the NBA Draft. He averaged 13.5 points and 9.1 rebounds for Duke last season. Chicago also had the 22nd pick and took Boise State forward Chandler Hutchison. The Bulls did not have a second-rounder.

(Chicago, IL) — The White Sox and Athletics were rained out last night at Guaranteed Rate Field. They’ll make that up with a doubleheader today, starting at 3:10 p.m. The Sox have lost seven in-a-row to fall to 24-and-49, two-and-a-half games ahead of the last-place Royals in the AL Central.

(Milwaukee, WI) — Carlos Martinez was battered for seven runs in four innings as the Cardinals lost 11-3 at Milwaukee. Matt Carpenter led off the game with a solo homer for St. Louis, which committed four errors in defeat. Yairo Munoz went 3-for-4 with two RBI in the setback.

(Cincinnati, OH) — The Cubs surrendered six runs in the sixth inning and lost 6-2 at Cincinnati. Kyle Hendricks gave up the first four runs to take the loss. Javier Baez had a two-run double in the third for Chicago. The Cubs are 42-and-30, a game behind the Brewers in the NL Central.

(Dallas, TX) — The NHL Entry Draft gets underway tonight in Dallas. The Buffalo Sabres have the first overall pick. The Carolina Hurricanes pick second, followed by the Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators and Arizona Coyotes. The first round is tonight. The draft finishes with rounds two through seven tomorrow.

(Tampa, FL) — The Buccaneers may begin the 2018 season without starting quarterback Jameis [[ JAME-iss ]] Winston. Multiple reports say he’s facing a three-game suspension for an alleged incident with an Uber driver in Scottsdale, Arizona in 2016. Winston would miss games against the Saints, Eagles and Steelers.

(New York, NY) — The Marlins will be without starting pitcher Dan Straily for five games. He’s been suspended for intentionally throwing a pitch at Giants catcher Buster Posey in the second inning of Tuesday’s game in San Francisco. Warnings were already in place after the first inning. Straily is planning to appeal.
