(Pittsburgh, PA) — Javier Baez [[ BYez ]] staked the Cubs to a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the first, but they would not score again in a 2-1 loss at Pittsburgh. Kyle Hendricks was outdueled by Joe Musgrove as Chicago couldn’t complete a three-game sweep. The Cubs visit the Mets for four games starting tonight.

(Cleveland, OH) — Corey Kluber [[ KLOO-ber ]] struck out 10 across six innings of shutout ball as the Indians clobbered the White Sox 9-1 in Cleveland. Chicago starter Reynaldo Lopez surrendered seven runs in less than three innings to take the loss. Yolmer Sanchez prevented the shutout with a solo homer in the ninth. The White Sox are on a four-game slid.

(Las Vegas, NV) — The Stanley Cup Final is tied at one win apiece. Alex Ovechkin and Brooks Orpik scored second-period goals to give the Capitals a 3-1 lead and they held on to edge the Golden Knights 3-2 in Game Two in Las Vegas. Lars Eller also scored for Washington. The best-of-seven series now shifts to D.C. for Game Three on Saturday.

(Oakland, CA) — Game One of the NBA Finals tips off tonight as the Warriors host the Cavaliers in Game One at Oracle Arena. It’s the fourth straight year the Warriors and Cavs have met in the Finals. Golden State has won two of the three series so far. Cleveland’s lone win was in 2016 when it rallied from a 3-1 deficit to win in seven games.

Cavaliers forward Kevin Love is still in concussion protocol and is questionable. Love will likely be a game-time decision.

(Orlando, FL) — The Orlando Magic are bringing back a familiar face to serve as their new head coach. Orlando has agreed to hire Steve Clifford. He spent the last five seasons as head coach of the Charlotte Hornets. Clifford was an assistant for the Magic from 2007 to 2012, and was with the team during its run to the NBA Finals in 2009.

(New York, NY) — The mother of a deceased NBA G-League player is suing the NBA and the Detroit Pistons for wrongful death. Zeke Upshaw collapsed in the closing seconds of a G-League game for Grand Rapids March 24th and died two days later. His mother alleges in her suit that he laid on the court for four minutes after collapsing with no attempts to save his life.
