(Detroit, MI) — Blaine Hardy allowed one run and three hits over a career-high seven innings as the Tigers nipped the White Sox 3-2 in Detroit. James Shields took the loss, giving up three runs on five hits and three walks over seven innings. Yolmer Sanchez had two of the White Sox hits, including a run-producing triple.

(Pittsburgh, PA) — The Cardinals scored twice in the seventh and three in the eighth to pull out a 6-4 win in Pittsburgh. Harrison Bader’s RBI single tied the game in the eighth and a bases loaded walk to Yairo Munoz put St. Louis ahead. Jedd Gyorko had a two-run single in the seventh as the Cards took two-of-three.

(Milwaukee, WI) — The Cardinals play a holiday matinee today against the Brewers in Milwaukee. Luke Weaver starts the opener of the three-game series for St. Louis, while Milwaukee sends Brent Suter to the mound. (Boston, MA) — It took LeBron James playing all 48 minutes for the Cavaliers to pull out an 87-79 win over the Celtics in Game Seven of the Eastern Conference finals at TD Garden. James scored 35 points with 15 rebounds and nine assists as Cleveland handed Boston their first loss at home of the playoffs. It’s the fourth straight NBA Finals’ appearance for the Cavs. Jeff Green added 19 getting the start in place of the concussed Kevin Love.
