(Springfield, IL) — J.B. Pritzker says he wants to send thousands of Illinois school kids back to the public schools that their parents wanted out of. The Democratic governor candidate Thursday told a group of teachers in Springfield that he will dismantle Illinois’ new tax credit scholarship program. The program allows people to donate money to provide a scholarship for students to leave traditional public schools. The response across Illinois to the scholarships has been overwhelming. Pritzker told the teachers he wants to build a better public education system.
