(Chicago, IL) — Voters will have their choice between a longtime Democratic state Senator and former Miss America for Illinois Attorney General this fall. Republican Erika Harold easily won her race yesterday against Garry Grasso. While senator Kwame Raoul had to squeeze out a victory over former Governor Pat Quinn in a crowded Democratic race. Both Raoul and Harold are African American, which means Illinois will have its first African American A-G since Roland Burris won the office back in 1990.
