He did not coach the Wildcats’ overtime loss at Oregon on Saturday.

(Miami, FL) — The Miami Dolphins and wide receiver Jarvis Landry are heading for a breakup. NFL.com reports the Dolphins have granted Landry permission to seek a trade with another team just days after Miami used the franchise tag on him. Landry led the league with 112 catches last season.

(Undated) — Former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly is again battling oral cancer. The 58-year-old revealed the news in a statement Thursday and is currently undergoing treatment. Kelly was diagnosed with cancer of the jaw back in 2013. After surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, he was declared cancer-free in September 2014.
>>Rae Carruth No Longer Seeking Custody Of Son
(Clinton, NC) — It appears former NFL wide receiver Rae Carruth [[ kuh-ROOTH ]] will not seek custody of his child. He sent a letter to “The Charlotte Observer” saying it’s in everyone’s best interest not to pursue a relationship with Chancellor Lee Adams. The 18-year-old is being cared for by his maternal grandmother. Carruth is currently locked up in a North Carolina prison for plotting the murder of Adams’ mother in 1999. He’s scheduled to be released later this year.

(San Jose, CA) — The Blackhawks were no match for the Sharks in a 7-2 loss at the SAP Center. San Jose pulled away with four goals in the second period. Jean-Francois Berube gave up six goals on 28 shots before getting pulled for the third period. Chicago allowed seven consecutive tallies on its way to a second straight defeat. They play at the Kings tomorrow.

(Dallas, TX) — The Blues begin a four-game road trip tomorrow against the Stars in Dallas. St. Louis also heads to San Jose, Los Angeles and Anaheim on this trip. The Blues snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over the Red Wings on Wednesday. With 74 points, they are just out of a wild card spot in the West.

(Mesa, AZ) — The Cubs and Rockies played to a 2-2 tie in Cactus League action from Mesa. Ian Happ hit a two-run homer in the third for the Cubs’ offense, his third of the spring. Chicago takes on the Angels this afternoon in Tempe.

(Goodyear, AZ) — The White Sox blew leads of 6-1 and 7-5 in an 8-7 loss to the Reds in Goodyear. Jose Ruiz gave up three runs in a third of an inning to get tagged with the loss. Chicago continues Cactus League play against the Dodgers at Camelback Ranch today.

(Jupiter, FL) — The Cardinals and Twins played to a 3-3 tie in Grapefruit League action at Roger Dean Stadium. An RBI double by Jose Martinez in the eighth inning knotted the game for St. Louis. Marcell Ozuna hit his first spring homer and Adam Wainwright tossed two scoreless innings. The Cards host the Red Sox today.

(Jupiter, FL) — Hard-throwing Cardinals prospect Jordan Hicks is no longer in big league camp. He’s been sent down to the spring training early program camp where he’ll join other top young prospects. With a fastball that’s been clocked at 100 miles-per-hour, Hicks is viewed as a potential late-inning reliever later on this season.

(Cleveland, OH) — J.J. Redick hit four threes en route to 22 points in the 76ers’ 108-97 win over the Cavaliers in Cleveland. LeBron James finished with 30 points for the Cavs. Jordan Clarkson was ejected late after throwing the ball at Dario Saric [[ SHAR-itch ]], who dunked during garbage time. If the season ended today, the Sixers and Cavaliers would meet in the first round of the playoffs.
