(PyeongChang, South Korea) — American Shaun White is back on top at the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea. White won the gold medal in the men’s snowboard halfpipe final. He threw down a 97.75 in his final run to earn the top-spot on the podium and a little redemption while he was at it. White failed to medal at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia after taking home gold in the 2006 and 2010 Games.

(Nashville, TN) — The Blues allowed four unanswered goals and fell to the Predators 4-3 in overtime from Nashville. St. Louis led 3-0 entering the final period before letting Nashville tie the game and send it to OT. It took Nashville just 79 seconds to win the game in extra time. The Blues are third in the Central Division with 72 points. They’ll visit Dallas tomorrow.

(Las Vegas, NV) — The Knights came to life with four goals in the third period to run away with a 5-2 win over the Blackhawks at T-Mobile Arena. Tommy Wingels and Alex DeBrincat each lit the lamp as the Blackhawks have lost seven straight. Chicago hosts the Ducks tomorrow night.
>>MSU Faculty Senate Vote Held
(East Lansing, MI) — Michigan State University’s faculty Senate issued a no confidence vote in the school’s Board of Trustees yesterday. According to multiple outlets in East Lansing, it was a 61-to-four vote. The move comes amid the Larry Nassar scandal and the trustees appointment of former Michigan governor John Engler as interim university president.
The Faculty Senate casted votes to say they are concerned about the selection process that led to Engler’s appointment and how the university will move forward. Nassar, a former Michigan State and USA Gymnastics doctor, admitted to sexually assaulting over 200 women and girls while calling his actions “treatment.”

(Oklahoma City, OK) — The Cavaliers turnaround continues with a 120-112 win over the Thunder in Oklahoma City. LeBron James led the way with 37 points, eight rebounds and eight assists as Cleveland earned its fourth straight victory. J.R. Smith hit six of the Cavs 16 threes on his way to 18 points. Rodney Hood and Jordan Clarkson each added 14, while Larry Nance Junior had 13 and nine boards.

(Lubbock, TX) — Number-six Texas Tech held freshman sensation Trae Young scoreless from behind the arc in its 88-78 win over number-23 Oklahoma in Lubbock. Young missed all nine of his three-point attempts, but still finished with 19 points and seven assists. It was the first game this season Young didn’t hit from deep. OU is 16-and-9 and 6-and-7 in conference.

(Los Angeles, CA) — Dion Phaneuf [[ DEE-awn fah-NUF ]] is heading to the United States. The Kings acquired the defenseman in a four-player trade with the Senators. Phaneuf comes to Los Angeles with forward Nate Thompson, while winger Marian Gaborik [[ MAIR-ee-uhn GAB-uhr-ihk ]] and center Nick Shore head to Ottawa. Phaneuf has three goals and 13 assists this season.
