(Urbana, IL) — It looks like the man charged with kidnapping and killing a Chinese-born University of Illinois scholar will wait to learn his fate. Federal prosecutors yesterday said they aren’t going to object to Brendt Christensen’s request to delay his trial. Christensen’s lawyers want to push back his February 27th trial because it is now a death penalty case. Christensen is facing charges for the kidnapping and death but not for the murder of Ying Ying Zhang last summer.
