(Springfield, IL) — One Springfield lawmaker wants to create a state law to bring jobs back to her hometown. Springfield Republican Sara Wojcicki Jimenez this month introduced a plan that’d essentially give Springfield dibs on new state jobs. Her plan would make the state’s capital city the default location for administrative jobs and require state officials to explain why any new job should be located outside of Springfield.
