(Champaign, IL) — City attorneys in Champaign aren’t sure what to do now that a local judge has cleared 25-hundred warrants from the court files. Judge Tom Difanis quashed the warrants just after the new year to make it easier on jail managers who had to deal with the paperwork when the suspects were arrested. Champaign City Attorney Fred Stavins said all of the open warrants were for local ordinance violations or for failing to appear in court.
