(Springfield, IL) — A lot of people in Illinois are sick with the flu, so many that state health managers are wondering if flu season is peaking early. Illinois Department of Public Health spokeswoman Melaney Arnold says there is a chance that the worst of the flu is hitting in January. Arnold said flu season usually peaks in February. As of the end of 2017, 344 people in Illinois have been to the emergency room for flu treatment this season.
