(Champaign, IL) — Salvation Army chapters across Illinois say their Red Kettles are a bit light this holiday season. Chapters in Champaign and Rockford yesterday both said that they are far off their goal for the year. Salvation Army commanders say they’re hoping for a lot of last minute donations, but fear the fact that many people no longer carry cash could be hurting people’s ability to give.
