(Chicago, IL) — Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner says the property tax system in Cook County is an ‘unholy trinity’ of corruption, collusion, and conflicts. The governor yesterday tried to make political headlines out of a new report that shows Cook County Assessor Joe Berrios’ work is riddled with inaccuracies and causes problems for small business owners. The report also said that because of the problems within the tax system, there is a strong cottage industry that is dedicated to helping certain people fix their tax bills.
