(Chicago, IL) — The Republican challenger in Illinois’ race for governor says she’ll work to strip Illinois of its sanctuary state status. State Rep Jeanne Ives yesterday said that she’ll push to roll back the Illinois Trust Act if elected. The Trust Act stops the Illinois State Police from cooperating with federal immigration authorities for minor immigration violations. Ives said she’ll restore the rule of law to the state.
