(Carbondale, IL) — Faculty members at Southern Illinois University’s main campus are going on record against a plan to cut bureaucracy and red tape. The school’s Faculty Senate yesterday approved a resolution that opposes the loss of any campus departments. SIU-C Chancellor Carlo Montemagno says the school must streamline and eliminate campus bureaucracy if it is ever going to reverse its financial woes and become a competitive university in the state of Illinois.
