(Sterling, IL) — Two teens charged with murder and arson will wait to see if they’ll be charged as adults. A judge in Whiteside County yesterday postponed Anna Schroeder’s hearing to decide if the 15-year-old should be charged as an adult for her mother’s death. Schroeder’s lawyer says he still has a thousand pages of evidence to sift through. Police say Schroeder shot her mother to death in July, then asked her friend 15-year-old Rachel Helm, to help burn her house to the ground to cover up the murder. Helm’s case is also being delayed to wait for a decision on adult charges.
