(Springfield, IL) — Former prison inmates in Springfield will have a new place to stay if they need it. The Springfield City Council gave the green light yesterday for a home owner to allow inmates to live in their house. The house is located in a neighborhood near Cass and 13th streets. The council is allowing only three inmates to be housed at a time. The owner says the ex-offenders will be monitored at all times. Sex offenders will not be allowed to stay there.
