(Springfield, IL) — Illinois’ emergency managers say even with all of the flooding, it could be tough for Illinois to get federal flood help. Patti Thompson with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency yesterday said governments across the state will have to see just over 18 million-dollars in damage in order to qualify for FEMA aid. Homeowners, Thompson said, will have to rely on flood insurance to be made whole.
