(Decatur, IL) — Swings for Homes hosted their annual wiffleball tournament last Saturday at Borg Warner Field for Habitat for Humanity and topped numbers from last year.
The tournament completed its second year with 17 teams competing and three new teams being added that did not participate last year. The numbers are not final from the weekend but the event looked to have raised around $10,000. The Swing for Homes committee says the organization has been the key to their success.
In their first year, they were able to put together the tournament in six weeks and after a year of organization were able to grow to another level. They also would like to grow the tournament to 20-24 teams in the years to come and look to do that by keep their heads down and keep improving the tournament year after year.
Swing for Homes will have another event on Friday, October 27th with their second annual Halloween Boo-Crawl with the money raised directed towards the wiffleball tournament.
