(Chicago, IL) — The former University of Illinois football player who says he was forced to play while injured now says he hopes to be an inspiration. Simon Cvijanovic yesterday told reporters that he hopes other college athletes speak out about their treatment. Cvijanovic blamed former Illini coach Tim Beckman for making his knee and shoulder injuries worse. The university this month agreed to a 25-thousand-dollar settlement with Cvijanovic. He says he wants other injured players to know they “are worthy” as well.
