(Decatur, IL) — If Decatur is going to have to wait to be paid by the state, the city is going to at least make a little money off the deal. City Finance Director Gregg Zientara last night said he’s tired of acting as a “bank” for the state when it comes to mass transit operations. Decatur is looking at a three-percent late payment interest charge on the million dollars the state owes. Zientara says that could net Decatur an extra 34-thousand dollars a year.
