(Peoria, IL) — CAT isn’t moving to Chicago. The heavy equipment maker yesterday said its new headquarters will be in north-suburban Deerfield. Caterpillar CEO Jim Umpleby said the location is close to O’Hare International Airport and the heart of Chicago. About 100 top workers will move from Peoria by the summer. Eventually, CAT plans to have 300 top executives working at the Deerfield office.
