(Urbana, IL) — Lawyers for former Congressman Aaron Schock say the federal government crossed the line when it used a staffer as an informant. Newly released court documents paint a picture of a staffer for Schock wearing a wire and turning over a mountain of evidence. Prosecutors aren’t commenting on Schock’s lawyers’ claims. Schock is facing a trial this summer on charges that he abused government and campaign spending accounts for his own gain.
