(Springfield, IL) — Illinois’ non-profit hospitals still don’t have a firm answer about their taxes. The state’s Supreme Court yesterday sent a case dealing with hospital taxes back to a lower court. The fight centers around whether non-profit hospitals that make money should have to pay property taxes. The city of Urbana sued its local hospital, Carle, over six-million dollars in unpaid taxes.
