(Springfield, IL) — A Springfield police officer isn’t facing charges for a deadly officer-involved shooting. Prosecutors yesterday said Officer John Shea was losing his vision when he shot Daniel Rogers eight times last month. Rogers died and Shea is still recovering from the beating he took. The State’s Attorney says Shea was justified in using deadly force. Police body cam footage shows Rogers start to fight with Shea, but doesn’t show the shooting itself.
