(Springfield, IL) — The people who work for the state government in Illinois should know by the end of the week if there’s support for a strike. AFSCME, the state’s largest public employee union, says members finished voting on a strike authorization over the weekend. AFSCME represents nearly 38-thousand public workers in state government. The union hasn’t had a contract in over a year.
