Lawmakers Want Education Funding Law From Governor

(Springfield, IL)  —  Democrats in the Illinois General Assembly say Governor Rauner needs to deliver more than just a report on how to pay for schools in the state.  Lawmakers want the governor to write the law. Senators yesterday told the governor’s education secretary that they expect the governor’s office to do more than just offer a blueprint.  Republicans in Springfield say it’s the Legislature’s job to write the laws.
