Lawmakers Scramble To Find Agreement On State Paychecks

(Springfield, IL)  —  Illinois lawmakers are trying to figure out how to pay state workers past the end of the month.  A number of lawmakers yesterday started the process to keep the paychecks flowing.  Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is asking a court to stop paying state workers at the end of the month because the state doesn’t have a budget. While most lawmakers say they want to see state workers get paid, there’s little agreement how to do it.
