(Springfield, IL) — Hunters in Illinois bagged fewer deer last year. The latest numbers from the IllinoisDepartment of Natural Resources came out late last week. DNR officials say hunters brought in just over 144-thousand deer in all four hunting seasons in 2016. That’s down from 155-thousand deer the year before.
