>>Woods Shoots Four-Over 76 In First Round At Torrey Pines


(La Jolla, CA)  —  Tiger Woods’ long-awaited return to the PGA Tour is off to a rocky start.  Woods is tied for 133rd place after carding a four-over 76 in the first round of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.  The 41-year-old is playing in a Tour event for the first time since August 2015.


>>Blues Lose To Wild


(St. Paul, MN)  —  The Blues will head into the All-Star break on a losing note.  They dropped a 5-1 decision to the Wild in Minnesota.  Vladamir Tarasenko had the lone goal for St. Louis, which is fourth in the Central Division with 53 points.  The Blues return to action Tuesday at home against Winnipeg.


>>Jets Rally By Blackhawks


(Chicago, IL)  —  The Jets scored three unanswered goals in the third period to rally for a 5-3 win over the Blackhawks.  Nick Schmaltz, Tanner Kero and Duncan Keith had the goals for Chicago, which has fallen four points behind Minnesota for the top spot in the West.  The Blackhawks have the weekend off for the All-Star break.



>>Rondo Calls Out Teammates


(Chicago, IL)  —  There’s growing dissension in the Bulls’ locker room.  Rajon Rondo called out teammates Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade in a social media post yesterday.  The post came after Butler and Wade criticized teammates following Wednesday’s loss to the Hawks.



>>Westbrook Headlines All-Star Reserves


(Undated)  —  Thunder guard Russell Westbrook headlines this year’s reserves for the NBA All-Star Game.  Westbrook will be joined on the Western Conference bench by Golden State’s Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.  The All-Star Game takes place February 19th in New Orleans.


>>Kanter Breaks Forearm Punching Chair


(Oklahoma City, OK)  —  Thunder center Enes Kanter is out indefinitely after breaking his forearm while punching a chair.  The incident occurred in the second quarter of the team’s win over Dallas last night.  Kanter is averaging 14.6 points and 6.8 rebounds this season.


>>AFC Faces NFC In 2017 Pro Bowl


(Orlando, FL)  —  The AFC clashes with the NFC in the 2017 Pro Bowl in Orlando on Sunday.  The NFL’s All-Star Game returns to its conferenced-based format following three years of using a draft with players selected by designated captains.  Meanwhile, Super Bowl 51 between the Falcons and Patriots in Houston takes place a week from Sunday.


>>Red Sox To Retire Ortiz’s Number-34


(Boston, MA)  —  The Red Sox are retiring David Ortiz’s number-34 this coming season.  The Sox will honor the 10-time All-Star before their game against the Angels on June 23rd at Fenway Park.  Ortiz’s number will be the 11th retired by the club.  “Big Papi” retired at the end of last season following a 20-year career.


>>Illinois At Penn State Tomorrow


(University Park, PA)  —  Illinois has a road date tomorrow afternoon at Penn State.  The Illini snapped a three-game losing streak with a 76-74 win over Iowa on Wednesday.  Illinois is 13-and-8 on the season, including 3-and-5 in Big Ten play.  The Nittany Lions have lost three in-a-row to fall to 11-and-10.
