A former store employee at Bergner’s in Hickory Point Mall in Forsyth is facing retail theft charges after he allegedly altered prices so his friends could walk out with items for as little as $1. The 25-year-old suspect was arrested at Bergner’s Monday evening by Macon County Sheriff’s Office deputies. The police were shown transaction records by a Bergner’s loss prevention officer, which allegedly revealed items being rung up for the wrong price between Dec. 26 and Jan. 6. The loss to the store was $544.
