>>Chiefs Hold Off Raiders To Take Over First Place


(Kansas City, MO)  —  There’s a new leader in the AFC West.  The Chiefs scored 21 points in the second quarter and held on for a 21-13 win over the Raiders in Kansas City.  Both teams are 10-and-3, but the Chiefs hold the tiebreaker after sweeping the two-game season series.



>>Colts Clash With Texans For First In AFC South


(Indianapolis, IN)  —  First place in the AFC South is on the line Sunday when the Colts host the Texans.  Indy, Houston and Tennessee are currently tied atop the division with identical 6-and-6 records.  Houston won the first matchup with Indy, 26-23, in overtime in Week Six.  The Colts lead the all-time series 23-to-6. >>Bears Battle Lions


(Detroit, MI)  —  The Bears do battle with the Lions in Detroit on Sunday.  The Bears notched a 26-and-6 home win over the 49ers last Sunday.  Chicago is just 3-and-9 on the season, but one of those wins was over first-place Detroit in Week Four.



>>Fowler Reportedly Signs With Cardinals


(St. Louis, MO)  —  A former Cub is joining their biggest rival.  Multiple reports say outfielder Dexter Fowler has agreed to a deal with the Cardinals.  The 30-year-old Fowler hit .276 with 13 homers and 48 RBI with the World Series champion Cubs last season.



>>Blues Lose To Islanders In Brooklyn


(Brooklyn, NY)  —  The Blues gave up a third-period goal to Anders Lee and lost 3-2 to the Islanders in Brooklyn.  Robby Fabbri and Kyle Brodziak had goals for St. Louis, which opened a four-game road trip with its second loss in the last three games.  The Blues play the Devils tonight in New Jersey.



>>Bulls Hand Spurs First Road Loss


(Chicago, IL)  —  The Spurs have been handed their first road loss of the season.  Dwyane Wade scored 20 points to lead the Bulls to a 95-91 win over the Spurs in Chicago.  San Antonio fell one victory shy of the NBA’s all-time record after opening the year with 13 straight road wins.



>>Warriors Sink Shorthanded Jazz


(Salt Lake City, UT)  —  Steph Curry scored 26 points as the Warriors sunk the shorthanded Jazz 106-99 in Utah.  Kevin Durant added 21 points and 11 rebounds as Golden State improved to 20-and-3 on the season.



>>St. Mary’s, I-State Upset


(Undated)  —  The only two top-25 teams in college hoops in action last night both suffered losses.  Previously-undefeated and 11th-ranked Saint Mary’s lost at home to UT-Arlington, 65-51.  Number-25 Iowa State was beaten by rival Iowa, 78-64.



>>Illinois Hosts Central Michigan Tomorrow


(Champaign, IL)  —  Illinois puts its three-game winning streak on the line tomorrow afternoon at home against Central Michigan.  Tip time from the State Farm Center is 2 p.m.  The Fighting Illini beat IUPUI on Tuesday to improve to 7-and-3 on the season.  Meanwhile, all the locals had last night off.
