>>MLB, Union Agree To New CBA

 

(Irving, TX)  —  There will be continued labor peace in Major League Baseball.  Major league players and owners agreed to a new five-year Collective Bargaining Agreement last night just hours before the old deal was set to expire.  MLB hasn’t had a work stoppage since 1994-95.

 

 

>>Kings-76ers Postponed Due To Wet Floor

 

(Philadelphia, PA)  —  Last night’s game between the Kings and 76ers was postponed due to condensation on the court in Philadelphia.  The Sixers share the Wells Fargo Center with the NHL’s Flyers, who hosted a game Tuesday night.  No makeup has yet been announced.

 

 

>>Surprising Lakers Turn Back Bulls

 

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Lakers continued their surprising start to the season with a 96-90 win over the Bulls in Chicago.  Julius Randle had 13 points and 20 rebounds for Los Angeles, which improved to 10-and-10.  The Lakers didn’t reach 10 wins until their 51st game last season.

 

 

>>Vikings Host Cowboys Tonight

 

(Minneapolis, MN)  —  The Cowboys will put their 10-game winning streak on the line when they face the Vikings tonight in Minnesota.  The 6-and-5 Vikings could be without head coach Mike Zimmer, who needed to undergo emergency eye surgery last night.

 

 

>>Bears Preparing For 49ers

 

(Lake Forest, IL)  —  The Bears are back to work preparing for Sunday’s game against the 49ers.  Quarterback Jay Cutler did not practice yesterday due to the shoulder injury that kept him out of last week’s loss to the Titans.  The Bears did bring cornerback Kyle Fuller off injured reserve and he could play Sunday.

 

 

>>Colts Visit Jets Monday

 

(Indianapolis, IN)  —  The Colts clash with the New York Jets on “Monday Night Football” next week.  Indy is 5-and-6 on the year while the Jets enter the matchup at 3-and-8.  Andrew Luck is still in concussion protocol, but participated fully in practice yesterday and is expected to be ready by Monday.

 

 

>>UFC’s McGregor Issued Boxing License

 

(Undated)  —  One of the biggest stars in the octagon could soon be entering a boxing ring.  The UFC’s Conor McGregor has been granted a license to box professionally in California.  McGregor has previously expressed a desire to box the retired and undefeated Floyd Mayweather.

 

 

>>Illinois vs. VCU Saturday In Miami

 

(Miami, FL)  —  Illinois will play in Miami, Florida this weekend.  The Fighting Illini go up against VCU Saturday afternoon in the HoopHall Miami Invitational.  Illinois beat NC State on Tuesday to end a three-game skid and improve to 5-and-3.  The Rams have won three straight games to up their mark to 6-and-1.
