Parkland College Approves Layoffs

(Champaign, IL)  —  Parkland College in Champaign is making cuts.  School trustees voted Wednesday night not to renew the contracts of eight non-tenured faculty members.  Officials say the layoffs are being made because of decreased state aid and a drop in enrollment.  The faculty members will lose their positions at the end of the current academic year in May.
